Grooves Spring 2026 Registration

Grooves Spring 2026 rehearsals are on the following Mondays from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Elley-Long Music Center:

February 2, 9, 16, (No rehearsal February 23)

March 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

The concert is on Monday, March 30 at 7:00pm (with a dress rehearsal at 6:00pm) at Elley-Long Music Center.

Attendance Policy: Grooves students are allowed one rehearsal absence for the Fall session. An additional absence may result in the student not performing in the concert.

Requirements: Grooves is an all-ages jazz program intended for students in grades 5 – 12 who have at least 1 year of experience on their instrument. All jazz experience levels are welcome. Grooves features a big-band performance component, divided by experience level, so everyone will feel appropriately challenged. Every student will learn the theory and improvisation techniques behind each piece of music they perform. Though improvisation will be large component of the program, no previous experience with improvising is necessary.

Financial Aid: If you are applying for Financial Aid, we must receive your completed registration information and Financial Aid application by January 30, 2026 for Spring VYOA Grooves to ensure consideration.
