At the 2025 Ontario Martial Arts Symposium, Grandmaster Jonathan Field and Ma’am Cheryl Sanders will present two dynamic Women’s Self Defence Seminars designed to empower participants with practical, real-world skills. The first seminar will focus on stand-up self defence, teaching effective responses to common attacks such as grabs, pushes, and strikes. The second seminar will cover ground defences and techniques for when you are on your back, equipping participants with strategies to protect themselves and regain control from vulnerable positions. Both sessions emphasize simple, effective movements that can be applied by anyone, regardless of size or experience, to build confidence, awareness, and safety.
Together, Jonathan and Cheryl bring decades of martial arts teaching, competition, and coaching experience to their seminars. As leaders at Cobourg Tae Kwon Do, they have trained students of all ages and abilities, developed award-winning programs, and empowered countless women through their Empowered Kickboxing & Self Defence initiative. Their teaching style blends technical expertise with a supportive and encouraging approach, making their sessions both practical and inspiring. Whether on the tournament floor, in the dojang, or through community seminars, Jonathan and Cheryl are dedicated to helping people gain the confidence and skills they need to protect themselves and thrive.
