  • Steinfeld Gallery is pleased to announce BIG WORKS: size matters, an exhibition dedicated to the power and presence of large-scale artworks. The exhibition will be on view through December 21, 2025. Juried blindly by Tucson-based contemporary artist Steven Derks, this exhibition invites artists to explore scale as a defining element of artistic expression. BIG WORKS: size matters is open to all artists aged 18 and older, working in any medium with the exception of video and installation art. All submitted works must measure a minimum of 400 square inches. Each artist may submit up to three works for consideration.This exhibition celebrates the boldness and impact of works that embrace size as both opportunity and inspiration, offering audiences a chance to experience art that commands space and attention.     Please note: The juror is making selections without any artist information. 

     
    All artists must fill out Jotform to be considered for inclusion in the exhibition. 
    Up to 3 completed works no smaller than 400 square inches, and in any 2 or 3-dimensional media may be submitted. 

    If accepted, all work must be ready to display and/or framed for hanging - no sawtooth hangers please. Any accepted work that is not in keeping with the original submission and/or is not properly prepared for exhibition will be rejected.

    Artists may submit images in JPEG, jpg (minimum 72DPI, no more than 1200 pixels in any direction). Each image file should be labeled with the artist’s last name, first name, and image title.

    Examples of 400 square inches: 20x20" / 16x25” / 10x40”

    How to calculate square inches: Width in inches × Height in inches = square inches 

    KEY DATES

    Deadline for Submissions:  

    Saturday, November 1 (midnight). You may submit up to 3 images no smaller than 400 square inches. ($30 submission fee).

     
    Notification of Acceptance: 

    Artists whose work is chosen for inclusion in the exhibition will be notified by November 12 (midnight) via email.  We will also post a list of acceptances on our website: www.SteinfeldWarehouse.org 

     
    Art Drop-Off: 

    Sunday, November 23 drop off artwork between 12:00-4:00 or Monday, November 24 drop off artwork between 4:00-6:00pm, or by arrangement.

     
    Exhibition Opens: 

    Saturday, December 6 / 4:00-8:00 Steinfeld Gallery


    Exhibit will remain up UNTIL SATURDAY, December 21. 

     
    Unsold Art Pick-Up: 

    SATURDAY, December 21 / 4 to 6 pm, SUNDAY, December 22 / 12:00-5:00 or by arrangement with us.  If your art isn't picked up by January 4, 2026, then we will donate it to a charity such as Good Will. We simply do not have the space to house the art. 

     
    Sales & Commissions: 

    Artwork is for sale. A 30% COMMISSION TO WAMO, FRIEND OF STEINFELD will be retained by WAMO, for donation to the STEINFELD GALLERY. The 70% Artists price will be sent out to Artists, via Money Order or Check, Money Orders and Checks within 30 days of sales (after completion of a W9 is submitted).
