    Check-in opens 6pm, presentation runs 6:30 - 7:30pm. Make sure to check-out the Gamers Guild sales floor, or grab a bite/drink at Forks and Boards for more fun during intermission (or before the presentation as well)! Classes will follow, running simultaneously from 8 - 9pm. Please only sign up for one class!

    Presentation ONLY 1 hour presentation by Fan Fusion Phoenix Science Directors, Rachel Pikstein (Professor and Scientist) and Katelyn Garcia (Entomology enthusiast) talking about our deserts creatures and their comic counterparts. Tables with preserved specimens will be available to view as well as interactive activities to participate in. There will be no live animals at this event.

    Owl Pellet Class Product Image
    Owl Pellet ClassRachel Pikstein will be leading a class on owl pellet deconstruction. Topics will include raptor hunting & diets, ventriculation process (how the body makes and ejects pellets), raptor anatomy, how to identify species by bones found in the pellets, and easy to implement raptor conservation tips for all! Class attendees receive 1 owl pellet and tools will be provided for class use. Attendees will dissect, clean, identify, and then display their bones. Bones go home with an "owl pellet skill certificate of completion", when the class concludes.

    Bug Pinning Class Product Image
    Bug Pinning ClassKatelyn Garcia, from Brom's Bug Box, will be leading a small class (only 15 seats available) on Insect Taxidermy aka Pinning. Topics will include how to pin various specimens, how to ensure your specimens are kept safe and where to obtain sustainable specimens. Class attendees will each receive 2 specimens (1 native Moth approx. size of the one in the photo and 1 native Antlion) , pins for spreading, tongs, foam-board spreading board, butterfly paper(for spreading) and take all items (specimens, pins, tongs and board) home when the class concludes.

    OPTIONAL UPGRADE: Professional Framing by Brom's Bug BoxOnly choose this upgrade if you have selected the "Bug Pinning Class" above. If you choose this upgrade, Brom's Bug Box will take your specimen(s), allow them to dry (takes a couple of weeks) and then, professionally frame them. Pick up will be coordinated via email when the frame is ready. If you have any questions you can email Bromsbugbox@gmail.com or message Brom's Bug Box on Instagram. This option will also be available to sign up for at the end of the class.
