  • Attendance and Participation

Please read and initial at the bottom of this section
  • The practicum program design requires complete participation on each day of the in-person practicum event to properly log the required hours and demonstrate the required skills.

Roll will be taken at the beginning of each day and checked again at the return from any scheduled breaks during instruction. For any digital classes (not all practicums include digital elements), cameras will be required to be on during roll in order to verify that a student is actually present.

    Tardy Policy

Students are expected to arrive on time for all sessions of the Psilocybin Practicum Training Course. Tardiness disrupts the learning environment and can impact the experience of other participants. If a student is consistently late, the instructor may address the issue on an individual basis, which may include additional training time to make up for missed hours. These additional hours may also incur additional costs at the discretion of the program director.

Tracking and Reporting Enrollment, Attendance, and Completion

Acadia Professional Learning Practicum Supervisor will record attendance for each day to confirm minimum hour participation.

Failure to complete the course due to unacceptable attendance will be reported to DORA and any other required state authorities if required by law. Such a failure to complete because of failed attendance will not result in any refunds of tuition paid and will likely require re-enrollment in the practicum course in the future and paying tuition again.

Most grievances can be resolved through informal communication and discussion. Engaging in open dialogue can often lead to a swift resolution and mutual understanding.

Written Complaint: The student should submit a written complaint detailing the nature of the grievance, including relevant facts, dates, and any supporting documentation, to the appropriate authority, such as the program coordinator. The complaint should be submitted within a reasonable timeframe from the occurrence of the incident or concern.
    2. Investigation and Review: Upon receiving the written complaint, the program coordinator will initiate an investigation and review process. This may involve gathering additional information, conducting interviews with involved parties, and evaluating any supporting evidence or documentation.
    3. Resolution Process: Based on the investigation and review, the program coordinator will work towards a fair and impartial resolution. This may include mediation, negotiation, or other appropriate means to address the grievance and find a mutually agreeable solution.
    4. Timelines and Communication: the program coordinator will strive to complete the grievance process in a timely manner and will communicate with the student regarding the expected timelines and progress of the resolution. Regular updates will be provided to ensure transparency throughout the process.
    5. Appeal Process: If the student remains dissatisfied with the outcome of the formal grievance procedure, they may have the option to appeal the decision. The appeals process, including the submission of additional evidence or arguments, will be communicated to the student, and a designated authority will review the appeal based on the established guidelines.

All information related to the grievance procedure will be treated with utmost confidentiality and privacy, adhering to applicable laws and regulations. Disclosure of information will be limited to the individuals directly involved in the resolution process, ensuring the privacy rights of all parties.
