High School Technical Design Competitions(Grades 9-12) You’re the DESIGNER! Enter in our Scenic Design Costume Design, and/or Crafts (NEW) Competition. Create your design for THE REVOLUTIONISTS by Lauren Gunderson prior to coming to conference and then have your designs reviewed by our technical design judge panel at the conference. Spend a part of your Saturday morning getting to meet your judges and get their live in-person feedback on your work. Junior & Senior AuditionsGet you camera ready to RECORD your audition tape! High school seniors attending conference are encouraged to take advantage of our College Auditions. Submit your audition tape to be reviewed by colleges all over the state of Virginia and BEYOND! After you submit your audition, you’ll receive your callbacks the week of conference prior to your arrival. At conference, take advantage of our College Fair and meet with the schools that have called you back! All colleges have different admission processes for their theatre and arts programs and at our conference you can learn the next steps to getting into the college program of your dreams. Junior & Senior Portfolio ReviewsIt’s time to put it all together! At our conference, VTA offers students the unique opportunity to have their technical portfolios reviewed by college professors that actively work in the field. Prior to the conference, compile your best work into a technical portfolio that makes you proud. Submit your portfolio online to be reviewed by colleges all over the state of Virginia and BEYOND. At conference, have your technical portfolio ready to share when you take advantage of attending our College Fair. On Saturday, we invite you to meet with different technical-focused professors to receive feedback on your portfolios.
