Upgrade from Artist Member to Signature Member
An Artist Member who has been in good standing in SPAP for at least three years can apply to become a Signature Member. Signature Membership is open to any SPAP member whose level of professionalism warrants special recognition.
Jurying for Signature Membership will be conducted by a minimum of three Signature Members or by the Board of Directors if Signature Members are unavailable. Artists who have reached a level of professionalism in their field, juried in by Signature Members or Board of Directors if Signature Members are unavailable.

Receive recognition on website
Applicant is expected to:
*Submit 3 to 6 images of plein air work completed within the past two years
*Submit artist’s biography
*Do demo or workshop at least every other year
*Serve on committee to review membership status and/or jury show for one year (or for two years if the previous demo/workshop requirement is impossible or very difficult to meet.)
Provide verification of four of the following qualifications:
*Professional teaching experience
*Gallery representation
*Featured in article in national magazine (not paid advertorial)
*Have been a member for three years
*Have placed in three SPAP shows within four years
*Been accepted into four SPAP juried shows
*Been invited to a regional, national or international plein air event
*Placed in a national plein air show
*Other
Signature Members can:
* Attend PaintOuts
* Serve on SPAP committees or Board
* Participate in shows
* Be listed in membership directory
* Schedule and host PaintOuts
* Conduct workshops and demonstrations through SPAP for the benefit of its members.
In the case of a workshop, the Signature Member must first be approved by the Board of Directors to be qualified to conduct a workshop by presenting their qualifications and a workshop proposal to the Board.
