Sponsor/Godparent: Prior to The Rite of Election, the catechumen may choose one or two Godparents (Sponsor), who will accompany the Catechumen on the day of Election, at the celebration of the Sacraments of Initiation, and during the Period of Mystagogy. Sponsors are called to show the Catechumens good examples of the Christian life, sustain them in moments of hesitancy and anxiety, bear witness, and guide their progress in the baptismal life. Sponsors must be fully initiated (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) Catholics of at least 16yrs of age who are free of penalty (in good standing with the Church). Sponsors are to complete and sign a sponsor covenant form and submit copies of their sacramental certificates.

OCIA Fees:

Payment is due at the time of registration

Class days & time:

Tuesdays at 6:30 pm starting late September

We will email 2 weeks prior to start of first class

Important Info:

OCIA is a 21 week program atttendance is required every week. Should you anticipate being absent please contact your instructor with notice.

You must agree to attend and participate in all classes except when illness or emergency preclude your attendance.

If more than 2 classes are missed you will be asked to retake the course

Sponsor forms need to be submitted no later than 2 weeks after course begins.
