Tulum Retreat Consent & Liability Waiver
Event: Within Retreat – Tulum, Mexico, February 2026
Facilitator: Junie Welsh, LPC-MHSP(t), LADAC II
1. Nature of Services
I understand that this retreat is not psychotherapy or clinical mental health care.
I acknowledge that Junie Welsh is not acting as my therapist in this context, and participation does not create a therapist-client relationship.
The retreat is an educational, wellness, and personal growth experience.
2. Travel & Logistics
I understand that airfare is not included and is my responsibility.
Group lodging, transportation within Tulum, meals, and group activities are included in the retreat fee.
3. Retreat Activities & Wellness Practices
I understand that the retreat includes participation in experiences such as:
- Temazcal (sauna/sweat lodge)
- Cold plunge/ice bath
- Holotropic (psychedelic-style) breathwork
- Yoga, meditation, and other wellness practices
I acknowledge that these practices may involve physical, emotional, and psychological intensity.
I confirm that I have disclosed any relevant medical or psychiatric conditions to my healthcare provider and have received clearance to participate.
I agree that I am solely responsible for monitoring my own well-being and participation in these activities.
4. Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability
I understand that participation in retreat activities carries inherent risks.
I release and hold harmless Junie Welsh, her affiliates, assistants, or contractors from any liability for personal injury, emotional distress, property damage, or other loss that may occur during or after the retreat.
I accept full responsibility for my health and safety during the retreat.
5. Independent Travel & Free Time
If I choose to leave the retreat property or engage in independent travel during free time, I acknowledge that I am doing so at my own risk.
I understand that Junie Welsh is not responsible for my safety, decisions, or outcomes while I am away from the group.
6. Drugs & Alcohol
I understand that:
Alcohol: If we go out to restaurants or social outings, participants are welcome to consume alcohol responsibly. However, any alcoholic beverages purchased at restaurants are not included in the retreat fee and are the sole financial responsibility of the participant.
Retreat Property: No drugs or alcohol may be brought onto or consumed in the retreat space.
Personal Choices: If I choose to use alcohol or other substances outside of the retreat context, I do so at my own discretion and assume full responsibility.
I acknowledge that Junie Welsh does not provide, endorse, or assume liability for drug or alcohol use.
7. Property Damage
I agree that if I cause any damage to the retreat property, accommodations, or belongings of others, whether intentional or accidental, I am financially responsible for covering the cost of repair or replacement.
8. Payment, Cancellation & Refunds
I understand that a $1,000 deposit is required to reserve my space.
The remaining balance is due within 30 days of deposit.
Deposits and payments are non-refundable.
If I cancel, or fail to attend, I am not entitled to a refund. Book consciously.
9. Consent & Acknowledgment
By signing below, I confirm that:
I have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this consent and liability waiver.
I understand the risks involved and agree to take full responsibility for my health, safety, and well-being during the retreat.
