  • KSHE Graduation Ceremony

Application, Participation Agreement, and Order Form. Why do we need so much information? Graduation (not to mention home education) is a BIG deal! We all want to honor everyone's hard work with some fun formality and consistency, and we need these things to create the many wonderful aspects of the graduation ceremony, including the program booklets, slideshows, and videos. Let's celebrate!
  • INSTRUCTIONS

This form requires a lot of information to complete. We have enhanced the registration process to make the process easier. You should also be able to save your progress now and return when you are ready to complete the form. However, TO AVOID DATA LOSS, it is strongly recommended that you first edit and save any lengthy responses (such as the student bio and answers to your audio recording questions) in another document of your own - and then simply copy and paste them into this form when you are ready to submit.
  • Saving Form Data Prior to Submitting

If something prevents you from completing the form all in one sitting, you can attempt to save your progress and return to complete the form later. To do this you MUST scroll all the way to the bottom of the form and click SAVE. You will be asked to either create a jotform account or to skip creating an account and just receive an email which should allow you to continue the form later. Be sure you have received an email with the link to CONTINUE FORM before you close the form/window. You should also always copy any large blocks of text you have written which are not stored anywhere else and save them in a document of your own to avoid having to rewrite them later. You must SUBMIT the form prior to the deadline to participate in Graduation.

  • Participation Agreement

  • Kansas Home Educators is proud to offer homeschooled graduates and their families the opportunity to participate in a graduation ceremony. The very fact that you (both the student and the parent!) will soon reach graduation day signifies that you have been willing to follow the Lord's leading down roads less traveled.

The primary intention of this ceremony is to honor the Lord God who made homeschooling possible for your family. We ask for the graduate and their families to review the following information:

Homeschool Graduates should have attended a homeschool for at least the last two years. If the graduate has homeschooled less than two years because of extenuating circumstances, an appeal may be submitted to the KSHE board for further consideration.

Per the Homeschool Legal Defence, homeschooling is defined as education that is primarily home based, parent directed and customized to meet the child’s and the family’s needs.

Virtual charter schools controlled by the public school system (such as K12, Insight, etc…) are not considered as home schools by Kansas Home Educators (KSHE) or Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA).  For more information search for “virtual charter schools” at http://www.hslda.org.  HSLDA’s website states “HSLDA does not provide legal services in connection with children enrolled in any such public school options.”  (referring to virtual charter schools or public school independent study programs)

  • If any of the above participation requirements cannot be met or agreed to on behalf of all parties seeking to participate in the ceremony, STOP completing this form.

You may seek an appeal with respect to the above participation requirements by writing an email to the KSHE board of directors at

    graduation@kshomeeducators.com before January 15, 2026.

Appeals should include the specific requirements you are seeking an exception to and any special circumstances.

  • Clear
  • Photos!

Upload your photos below. Be careful to read and follow instructions or you will be asked to resubmit new photos (which creates more work for everyone). These photos will be used in the ceremony content, including the program booklet and ceremony videos.
  • DO:

    • Choose high quality / clear photos to scan or send digitally. Portrait studio photos are great!
    • Put all of your photos in a JPEG/JPG format
    • Pay attention to the background of your photo.
    • Please avoid photos with “clutter” & glare from mirrors or windows, etc.

    DON’T:

    • Use screenshots of social media photos
    • Submit blurry photos of any kind – any blur is enhanced when enlarged
    • Submit photos with red eyes

    OTHER TIPS:

    • Group photos are discouraged for visual purposes – the audience has a hard time deciphering which one is the graduate in the short time that the photo is viewed.

NOTE: KSHE reserves the right to decline any photo and ask for another.
