TASS STUDENT REGISTRATION

Towards Ahimsa Secondary School Registration for Ontario High School students. We are accredited by the Ontario Ministry of Education and authorized to grant high school credits toward the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
TASS Class Schedule

TASS courses run from early September to late May. Students are expected to participate in the following weekly schedule: Synchronous online class from 7:30–8:45 p.m. on Sundays & Thursdays, asynchronous learning from 3:30–4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, and in-person field trips. Students must attend synchronous sessions, field-trips and complete the assigned asynchronous learning each week.

Attendance Expectations: TASS courses follow the attendance standards of Ontario secondary schools. Students are expected to attend all online sessions (3 times per week) and required in-person field trips (approximately 7 times per school year). During online classes, cameras must be on, students must participate actively, and assignments must be completed. Parents/guardians or students must notify the teacher in advance of any absence or late arrival. Ongoing absenteeism may be reviewed and could result in loss of credit.Do the student and parent(s)/guardian(s) agree to these attendance expectations?
Student Media Release Consent (for TASS School & Events): I, the parent/guardian, give permission to Towards Ahimsa Secondary School (TASS) and its partners to record, photograph, or film my child’s name, image, student work, and performance (“Works”) for use in school publications, on the TASS website, social media, or in broadcasts (TV, radio, or online).I understand that external media may attend school events (e.g., sports, performances, science fairs) and may capture and publish or broadcast my child’s Works.I acknowledge that these Works may appear online or in public media beyond TASS’s control and may be used beyond the current school year. Notice of Collection: Personal information on this form is collected under the authority of sections 58.5(1), 170, 171 of Education Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.E.2 ("Education Act") and Regulation 298: Operation of Schools – General under Education Act and will be used by Towards Ahimsa Secondary School ("TASS") for school registrations, to establish and maintain Ontario student records, for administrative purposes, and may be shared with other educational institutions for the same purpose. The information is retained in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. M. 56 and will only be disclosed to authorized TASS and school staff in order to administer the above purposes. Questions regarding this collection should be directed to the TASS principal.
