Membership is open to Amatsu practitioners who have trained in other schools, provided they furnish copies of their qualifications, current insurance etc. All members must be listed on the AAI website and are encouraged to attend at least one day of CPD organised by the AAI.
In the event of any disciplinary procedure involving an AAI member who has been trained outside of the AAI’s school, a representative from that other school must be available to liaise with the AAI during any proceedings arising.
All members must adhere to the AAI Code of Ethics and AAI Code of Practice (full Codes available on our website https://amatsuassociation.ie). The AAI has the right to expel any member in breach of this Code.
In short, the AMATSU PRACTITIONER must: Take responsibility for their actions and observe confidentiality; keep client records safe and secure; procure a medical history prior to treatment; proceed with extra care with pregnant women, babies and the elderly; never recommend ceasing prescribed medication; always have a parent/guardian present when working with a minor or a person with an intellectual disability; never compromise the dignity or privacy of the client. Strive to represent the profession with integrity and honesty; respect the client’s right to seek a second opinion; report any claims against them by a client, which will be made available to the Committee for disciplinary procedures/support; respect and co- operate with AAI colleagues; hold an up-to-date First Aid cert (ideally an Occupational First Aid cert).
