Program Overview
The Newark City Parks Foundation (NCPF) hosts a series of seasonal events across five downtown parks, providing curated opportunities for food, merchandise, and community-based vendors.
Event Locations:
Lincoln Park
Military Park
Mulberry Commons
Riverfront Park
*Harriet Tubman Square park will be under construction
All vendors must be at least 18 years old and must upload a valid government-issued photo ID.
All vendors must complete a registration form and pay a non-refundable $50 fee per event.
Package options available:
10-Event Package: $400
House Music Package (13 events): $490
If uncertain, do not submit application payment until you have received confirmation from NCPF staff.
Events are in: Harriet Tubman Square, Lincoln Park, Military Park, Mulberry Commons, and Riverfront Park only.
Late Application Policy
Applications submitted within 72 hours of an event start time will incur a $10 late fee per event. Late applications are not guaranteed acceptance and are subject to:
- Space availability
- Operational feasibility
- Staff approval
Vendors submitting late must still meet all documentation and compliance requirements.
Additional city requirements apply
NO sales of alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, or infused products allowed. This is required by Newark City Ordinance §18:1-1.
Required Documentation:
(Must be submitted at least 2 weeks before the event)
Department of Health and Community Wellness

- Food Handler Certificate (all handlers)
- “Satisfactory” Health Placard (truck/trailer/cart)
- Food menu
- Newark Peddler’s License (if applicable)
- Commissary agreement + placard (for off-site drinks)
- Cottage Food Permit or kitchen docs (for baked goods)
- HACCP Plan + inspection + placard (for pre-bottled raw juices)
- Matching business name across all documents
Fire Deptartment ( 973-733-7495):
- Type 1 Fire Permit (submit 2 business days before event)
- Hood/suppression inspection (within 6 months)
- “K”-type extinguisher + portable extinguisher (tagged)
- Inspected propane tank/hose, proper mounting & venting

Important Vendor Information for Downtown Parks Events
If you are applying to vend at events in any of the five downtown Newark parks — Military Park, Harriet Tubman Square, Mulberry Commons, Lincoln Park, or Riverfront Park — please do not go to City Hall for vendor registration or information.
