    Please bear in mind that Crazy 8 Ranch only rents the horse for the photo shoot. We do not have a regular photographer on hand, you will be responsible for booking your own photographer and we can all coordinate together to get the perfect day and time for your session!

    ***WEIGHT LIMIT***

    For the safety of both the rider and our horses we have a weight limit for each individual horse.

     

    Small horses/ponies CANNOT carry large adults (including some older children)

     

    Depending on the horse/pony their weight limit can range from 100lbs - 200lbs

     

    200lbs is the maximum weight limit (for some horses not all)

     

    If there's any question that a rider is over the individual horse's weight limit we will have a scale available so that they may weigh themselves.

    We do not have an age limit for photo shoots, all minors must have a legal parent or guardian sign a liability release form with the child's name printed.

     

    You can find this form on our website, it can be printed to be turned in at the consultation or you may email it to the email listed on the website.

     

    Small children may need to be accompanied by an adult when next to and/or on the horse. 

     

    Everyone included in the session, including the photographers crew, will be required to sign the liability form prior to the final session.

     

    Adults will sign for themselves, parents or guardians will sign for minors, the liability form is on the website if you would like to email or print them, and all that are present at the consultation may sign the liability form we provide here at the ranch.

     

    Those who are printing the liability form may turn it in at the final session.

  • Things to know about this process...(Read thoroughly)

    1. We are excited to have you here at Crazy 8 Ranch, keep in mind we only offer renting a horse(s) for your photo/video shoot. We do not have a photographer on hand, you are responsible for providing your own photographer, and we will all coordinate the perfect day and time for your photoshoot.
    2. Filling out this form is only booking a consultation with Crazy 8 Ranch.
    3. All attendees will be required to have a signed release of liability form before the final session. Any person under the age of 18 is required to have their legal parent / guardian sign the liability form. You may find the release of liability on our website, and either email it to us or print it and turn it in day of. Those who come to the consultation are welcome to sign the form we have here at the ranch. 
    4. For your consultation you will pick the horse, saddle, and other tack to coordinate with your theme; specific date and time for the photo shoot session; specific area/place desired to pose at; discuss any accessories/poses for the vision; put down a non-refundable 50% deposit for your photoshoot reservation(cash is best, if you pay with card, a card fee will be applied); and go over any other questions, comments, or concerns.
    5. If you intend to use prop(s) for your final session, you will need to bring them to the consultation and you may need to leave your prop(s) here at the ranch in order for us to practice with the horse(s) to get them accustomed to having the prop(s) on/around them. This is important for safety. Horses are a prey animal and we are a predator, if they have not seen the object before, and they do not know your intentions with the object, they may not react very well out of fear, which is why we need to practice beforehand. (We have different horses available, and each horse has been accustomed to different props based on the sessions they've done in the past, so depending on what your prop(s) is, you may or may not need to leave it here as they have already been exposed to it)
    6. We will be confirming your appointment with us 48hrs beforehand for the day/time/place/horse/tack/ect. The rest of the payment for your final session will be due at this time. Payment is non-refundable.
    7. The horse you select will be bathed/cleaned the day before or the day of the photoshoot. We will deep clean the saddle/tack you select that way it is in perfect condition for the session.
    8. You are welcome to bring baby carrots or cut up apples for your horse as a treat for doing a good job!
    9. You and the photographer need to arrive a minimum 30 minutes before the photoshoot time in order to do outfit changes, dress up the horse with any props you made/bought, set up cameras, travel to the area you want as a background, ect. Example- If you book the photoshoot at 5p.m. you need to be here at 4:30p.m.
    10. If you have booked a photoshoot in the woods you will need to be here 45 minutes to 1 hour beforehand that way we can load up all photographers equipment, step stool, props, horse, and all persons that will be in / present for the photoshoot, which may take multiple trips. Example- If you book at 6p.m. you need to be here between 5p.m.-5:15p.m. 
    11. The time you select is when your time starts, even if you are running behind. If you go over the time you have paid for, it is an additional $20 for the first 15 minutes, if your session goes past 15 minutes over, the 30minute rate will apply. These charges will be due immediately at the end of the session.
    12. If you are not present by the time your appointment officially starts, per our policy, you will be forfeiting your appointment, you will lose the remainder of your payment, as it is not refundable, and the horse will be put away.
    13. We do not refund or reschedule for weekend or holiday appointments. To reschedule with us during a non holiday weekday, you must reschedule with us via phone or text at least 24 hours in advance.
    14. We are a volunteer-based rescue facility, cash tips are greatly appreciated, though not required :)
