Invitation for Call for Art - Photography Only
  • Calling Photographers

Maus Haus Gallery is excited to announce the 2026 Open Call for Photography. This opportunity is for photographers to showcase their most recent photographic creations. We are seeking artists that use their camera skills as the focus of their artwork. The theme for this show is Serenity. New Artwork only, any artwork older than 2020 will be disqualified. This is not limited to 2D work, 3-dimensional work can be accepted if a camera was used somehow in the creation of the final piece.
  • Maus Haus Gallery was founded in 2023 with the sole intention of bringing artists and their artwork to everyone. We strive to connect art with the community in a way that encourages and promotes artists of all levels. We believe that art should be accessible to everyone. Curator and owner, Cheryl Maus, has loved art ever since she was little and exploring her father’s Canon 35mm film camera. She studied photography and studio art at Oakland University, graduating with a BA in 2013. She then went on to pursue a MA from Johns Hopkins University in 2022 in Museum Studies. Cheryl loves visiting local art galleries and especially the Detroit Institute of Arts but felt something was missing. While in her studies she felt there was a disconnect between up-and-coming artists and having work shown in art galleries. She formed Maus Haus Gallery with the intention of helping to educate new artists with how to work with art galleries and other opportunities to show and display their art. Cheryl has shown her work in a few local galleries including, The Scarab Club, Lawrence Street Art Gallery, Detroit Artist Market, Grosse Pointe Artists Association and Hatch Art Gallery.
