  • PARENT/GUARDIAN INFORMATION

Please only include email addresses that are regularly checked and are not "full".
  • STARLING HEALTH INFORMATION

The following information is for committee eyes only and is used in case of emergency or for when we provide any food/snacks for the Starlings.
  • STARLING T-SHIRT SIZE

We provide every starling with a t-shirt. This will be the t-shirt that needs to be worn for most optional events that the starlings are invited to participate in (parades, events, etc.) - so please keep it safe after the event as we likely will not have extras.
  • STARLING PRODUCTION INFORMATION

Information to be used on stage when your starling is introduced.
  • STANDARDS OF CONDUCT

  • Starling Expectations:

In order to be safe while participating, we must have standards of conduct for all starlings. We will not tolerate violations of these; anyone who chooses to disregard them may be removed from the program. Participation constitutes agreement to these standards:

    • During rehearsal, the event, and any additional events, all starlings are to remain in the designated area. You may use the restrooms as needed, with permission from the starlings coordintaor. At no time are any starlings to leave the area without permission and supervision.
    • While in any event space, all starlings will conduct themselves with respect. The property and its equipment, furniture and belongings should be used properly and with care to maintain its integrity.
    • It is our responsibility as a team to keep all event spaces clean.
    • Personal behavior must exemplify respect to those in authority, to one another, and to the property. Appropriate behavior is described as: “respectful” & “responsible”. Respect the volunteers and those in authority, either adults or peers. Respect each other. Show you are responsible by being on time, learning your choreography, and paying attention to the directions given to you.
    • Dress Code: Please wear appropriate clothing to rehearsal and events. Rehearsal clothing may include: flexible pants or shorts, snug fitting shoes, shorts under dresses, tops that are not restrictive.

Our number one goal is that everyone has a positive and fun experience! However, should behavior problems arise with princess participants, the following disciplinary plan will be followed (in general):

    1. Verbal warning
    2. A break from the action
    3. A phone call to the parent/guardian
    4. Dismissal from the program (no refund will be provided to those who are dismissed from the program)

    Parent/Guardian Expectations:

Parents/guardians have the most important roles! Our heartfelt thanks go out to all of the family members who have supported us in the past. It is our goal to produce a program with high production values while providing every princess with a fun and safe experience as they learn. To that end, we rely heavily on your support as the parent of a starling. A child’s commitment to the program is really a family’s commitment. We have developed the following list of expectations for parents to guide you as you consider committing your time and your child’s time in this program. We respectfully expect the parents of starlings to:

    • Contact the director/coordinator if you have any questions or concerns.
    • Encourage your daughter by helping her practice choreography at home (a video will be sent out after rehearsal).
    • Bring your daughter to rehearsal and event(s) on time and pick her up promptly at the end.
    • Let us know if you can help! A lot of work is done by the families and friends of former and current participants. (We operate under the “many hands make light work” theory!) Please thoughtfully consider the opportunities where you may be of help.
    • If your daughter is sick or running a fever, please help us by keeping her out of events until she is healthy again.
    • Please respect the rehearsal times. Director/volunteer/parent conversation time is any time after rehearsal.
  • PERMISSION, CONSENT, & RELEASE

  • MSSO = Miss Spokane Scholarship Organization

Permission and Consent: During the year, there may be opportunities for starlings to make appearances at events and parades throughout the area. As opportunities arise, parents/guardians will be sent details and given the option to have their daughter participate in these events. Photo and Video Release: By submitting this form, I grant to the MSSO and its representatives the right to take photographs and videos of my daughter and my/her property.
