Part 4: Participation Path

General membership is the default starting point. Students are welcome to join and participate at their own pace — with no expectation to pursue awards, fundraise, or take on leadership roles. For those who wish to take on more responsibility, we recommend the Leadership Initiative.

Leadership Initiative (Recommended for all age divisions): Start working toward a National Service Award, lead student-driven outreach projects and student government initiatives, guide fundraising efforts that directly support your community, and create a meaningful, competitive volunteer résumé that showcases leadership, service, and impact.
Part 5: Support the Mission

VMA is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This means we exist solely for charitable and educational purposes, including providing free classical music outreach, leadership education, and community service opportunities for students.
