We at Studio 55 Martinez are excited to invite you to exhibit your works at the gallery. “Joy in Small Things” is an opportunity for you to display small works that may be purchased and given as cherished gifts for the holidays.

 

Eligibility: This exhibition is open to all emerging and established artists.

Medium: painting, drawing, printmaking, illustration, watercolor, oil, acrylic, collage, ink, pencil, mixed media, digital art, photography, fiber and textile art, and sculpture.

 

Submission guidelines:

a. Artist may submit up to 3 pieces of artwork in any medium

b. Digital submissions must be high-resolution PNG, JPEG, or TIFF files, well-lit, clear photos or scans

c. Submissions must include a description.

 

Dates & deadlines:

a. Submission deadline November 1

b. Approval/decline notices will be sent out on November 15

c. Drop off on or before Sunday, November 30, during gallery hours. 

d. Reception Sunday, December 7

e. Pick up January 10 & 11, 2026 during gallery hours.

 

Fees & sales agreement:

a. Non-refundable $15 submission fee.

b. 25% commission (to gallery) upon sale of artwork.

c. 3% of art sales (from gallery commission) will be donated to Stand Together Contra Costa

d. 75% of art sales to artist, paid by check, or third party wire-transfer (venmo or paypal) at the end of the exhibition

 

Work must be “installation ready”, meaning: 

a. Work must be framed or gallery-wrapped and ready for hanging

b. Flat D-ring, hardware, or wire must not be visible.

c. Work must be ready to hang with a wire, saw-tooth hanger, or D-ring. If that's not possible, please contact the gallery to discuss alternative hanging options.

d. Work must be clean and the frames in good condition

e. Unframed canvas and panels must have gallery-wrapped sides with no staples visible.

 

The Artist's homeowner's or renter's insurance should cover any possible damage or loss to the artwork while it is outside the home. Please check the policy to insure any damage to artwork will be covered.

Studio 55 Martinez reserves the right to use images of art for marketing purposes.

Artists are invited to attend the reception and invite family and friends to attend if possible. Studio 55 will provide beverages for the reception. Artists should promote the exhibition and reception on their social media and via word of mouth. Artists can pick up flyers for the show to distribute.
