  • COACH THEATRE AGREEMENT

  • Congratulations and Welcome to the Fall Production!

We’re thrilled to have you join the cast! Participating in a theatrical production is an exciting and rewarding experience, but it also requires dedication, time, and responsibility. This commitment not only affects the student cast member but also their family. To ensure a successful and unified experience for everyone involved, we ask that you carefully read through this agreement together and sign it to acknowledge your commitment to the expectations outlined.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us at drama@coachhomeschool.org.

A Note from the COACH Theatre Department
Drama is a powerful and joyful way to come together as a team to create something that brings delight to others. In order to achieve this, it’s important that all participants understand the level of commitment and responsibility expected. Our ultimate goal is to glorify the Lord through our words and actions. We want every student to feel loved, heard, and equipped to grow as both performers and people.

    COACH Theatre Department Expectations

    Positive Participation
All cast members are expected to be a positive influence on campus. Bullying, gossip, or negativity of any kind will not be tolerated. Keep drama on the stage—let’s encourage unity and respect at all times. Students are expected to follow the COACH Student Code of Conduct.

    Attendance
Consistent attendance is crucial. Unexcused absences can disrupt the rehearsal process. If a student must miss rehearsal for an excused reason (doctor’s appointment, illness, family emergency), please notify the director as soon as possible. Advance notice is always appreciated.

    Rehearsal Expectations
Students are expected to be fully present and engaged during all rehearsals. Disruptive or off-task behavior will result in a conference with the student and parent.

By signing this form, you agree that your student will attend all scheduled rehearsals for the full duration unless prior arrangements have been made with the director.

    Role Acceptance
All students are expected to embrace the role they are assigned, even if it is not the role they initially desired. Every role is essential to the success of the show.

    Mandatory Rehearsals
Students must be present for tech week and any additional listed rehearsals. Attendance at all performances is required, and cast members must arrive at the designated call time.

    Production Fee Commitment
By choosing to audition, you are committing to the production and agree to pay the full musical/theatre fee.

    Phones
Phones must remain off and put away during rehearsals to avoid distractions and missed directions.

    Parent Involvement
Each parent is required to volunteer a minimum of 4 hours per semester. Volunteer roles include set design, costume support, ticket or concession sales, performance day assistance, and more. This will be coordinated by the director or producer.

    Cast Member Responsibilities
COACH Theatre is an educational theatre program—our mission is to help students grow as performers while also engaging in the behind-the-scenes aspects of theatre.

    Each student is expected to:

    1. Trust the directors during the audition and casting process. Every student is vital to the success of the production.
    2. Show Christ-like love and kindness to staff and fellow cast members.
    3. Pay close attention to all announcements and rehearsal notes.
Attend all required rehearsals, including any scheduled outside of the regular COACH day.
    4. Notify Missy McCorkle or Cecil Powell at least three days in advance for any missed rehearsal. For emergencies or illness, contact Missy at (951) 294-2497 or via email.
    5. Commit to no absences during the final month of rehearsals and all stage dates.
    6. Be prepared and focused. Arrive 5 minutes early to settle in, stretch, and prepare.
    7. Bring your script and pencil to every rehearsal.
    8. Have all lines, songs, and blocking memorized by the designated dates.
Wear appropriate rehearsal clothing—clothes suitable for movement and closed-toe shoes.
    9. Respect rehearsal and performance spaces.
    10. Remain in the building for the entire rehearsal unless approved by a COACH staff member.
    11. Keep phones silenced and stored away.
    12. Participate in set building day, or contribute to set/prop construction at home if unavailable.
    13. Attend set strike after the final performance unless excused by the director.
    14. Provide costume items for your role as requested.
    15. Participate in fundraisers to support theatre expenses such as rental space, microphones, and materials.

      Acknowledgment
We understand that being a part of COACH Theatre is a meaningful commitment. By signing below, we acknowledge and agree to abide by all expectations and responsibilities outlined above.
