  • ABOUT

  • In partnership with Marywood University, this 8-week, virtual course consists of online modules and a mentorship opportunity that will provide students with an innovative and flexible learning experience. Participants improve their personal and professional development skills while building a solid resume and honing leadership, interview, and career readiness skills.

    Topics may include the power of personality, managing differences, emotional intelligence, personal brand development, authentic leadership communication, conflict management, and resolution, decision-making, and writing emails for impact and influence. Participants work on weekly course content at their own pace and Zoom once a week as a class. Students are provided the opportunity to connect with students from all over the state and build connections via a private Linked In group.

    This program is co-facilitated by Leadership Lackawanna, Marywood University Associate Professor Dr. Amy Paciej-Woodruff, and consultant Dr. Annie Muscato.

    We are offering two paths to completion (curriculum and course length are the same with both options):

    Option 1: Credit option-- Students are awarded 3 education credits from Marywood University and a certificate of completion from Leadership Lackawanna-- Cost: $800

    Option 2: Non-credit option-- Students are only awarded a certificate of completion from Leadership Lackawanna—Cost: $400

  • SCHEDULE

  • Participants work on weekly course content at their own pace, but must attend eight (8), mandatory, one-hour Zoom meetings, held Mondays at 8:00 p.m.

    Sessions dates: January 12, 19, 26, February 2, 9, 16, 23 and March 2, 2026.

    All meetings will be recorded. Before applying, students must ensure there are no schedule conflicts.

  • TUITION POLICY

  • For all six programs tuition refunds are only guaranteed within TWO weeks of the first session.   After the designated period, a refund will be considered on a case-by-case basis, at the discretion of the Executive Director.

    Individuals who are dismissed from any program will not receive a refund.

    Tuition assistance is now available to all qualifying candidates - regardless of the industry or sector.

    Tuition for TLT and Core must be paid within 30 days from the start of the program UNLESS a written request regarding special payment is submitted to Leadership Lackawanna.  LL has sole discretion to accept or decline such requests.

    Tuition for WS!, Collegiate, LF 2.0 and Executive must be paid before the start of the program.

  • PARTICIPANTS COMMITMENT

  • Thank you for agreeing to volunteer with the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce (GSCC) and/or its affiliated organizations, including but not limited to: Scranton Lackawanna Industrial Building Company, MetroAction, Skills in Scranton, Lackawanna Industrial Fund Enterprises, The Scranton Plan and Leadership Lackawanna. During your volunteer activities with GSCC, if serious injury should occur that requires emergency medical assistance, you are required to report the incident to your health insurance provider first. Volunteer accident insurance from Federal Insurance Company (a Division of Chubb) may cover additional medical expenses beyond your own coverage benefits. Volunteer accident insurance will serve as your primary coverage if you do not have health/medical coverage of your own, coverage is limited to $50,000.

    I acknowledge that I or my dependent(s) have voluntarily applied to participate with GSCC on any of its projects without pay as a volunteer and agree that we assume the risk of injury or loss of life by participating. I or my dependent(s) understand that I/they am/are voluntarily participating in various individual and group activities related to the mission of the GSCC. These activities include but are not limited to the handling of power tools, climbing ladders, loading and unloading materials, painting and other related activities. This release is intended to be broad in its effect. I hereby agree to accept risk of injury, illness or death and verify this by placing my signature.

    As being permitted to participate in these activities, I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, legal guardians, representatives, and dependents, hereby irrevocably and unconditionally waive, release and forever discharge GSCC, its officers, directors, agents, and representatives from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, actions, judgments, liens, losses, costs, attorney’s fees, and legal expenses or liabilities of any nature (including injury to and/or death of the participant), whether negligent or intentional, resulting from participation by me or my dependents in said activities. 

    I give permission for my name, image, and likeness, as shown in videotapes, photographs, film, electronic images, and/or audio recordings, to be used by Leadership Lackawanna (LL), now and in the future. Further, LL will not request approval or provide notice prior to the use of name, image, or likeness. This permission extends to all LL assignees, successors, and/or partner organizations, and will be used for social media, marketing, and website use. Furthermore, I understand that such photographs, films, recordings, and electronic images and the plates, tapes, and/or software from which they are made shall become the property of LL.  I have carefully read this waiver and fully understand its contents. I am aware that this is a legal contract between LL and me that affects my legal rights. I am signing this document of my own free will.

    I or my dependent(s) have carefully read this agreement and fully understand its contents. I am aware that this is a release of liability and a legal contract between GSCC and me and my dependents that affect my/our legal rights. I am signing this document of my own free will.

     

  • CRIMINAL BACKGROUND STATEMENT

  • Leadership Lackawanna operates with the highest moral standards. Further, Leadership Lackawanna maintains organizational integrity and requires that the conduct of its members before, during, and after participation in a Leadership Lackawanna program comply with Leadership Lackawanna’s mission, core values, purpose, Code of Ethics, and be in compliance with the local, State, and Federal laws.
