A: We do not offer refunds, but you can transfer your booking to an alternative date for free.
Do I need to book in advance?
A: Yes – sessions sell out fast! Marshmallow tokens must also be pre-purchased online and cannot be bought on the day.
Times & Sessions
Q: What time should I arrive?
A: The park opens for Spooktacular guests from 4:00pm. Please arrive 15 minutes before your chosen session time.

7:30pm — 👻 Thrilling & Spooky (older children)
8:00pm — ⚡ Intense Frights (teens)
8:30pm — 💀 Maximum Terror (adults only)

Quick note: Sunset gets earlier each week — full darkness falls roughly an hour after sunset. We plan our slots so early sessions feel magical in the dusk, while later sessions are fully dark for the ultimate haunted forest experience!
Q: Does it get darker earlier later in October?
A: Yes – dusk is around 6:30pm at the start of the month, but will fall earlier as October goes on. Please bear this in mind when choosing your slot.
Getting Around & Accessibility
Q: Is the tractor ride included?
A: Yes – rides are free for all guests, but capacity is limited. You may need to wait for the next available trailer at busy times.
Q: Is the forest route suitable for wheelchairs or buggies?
A: The walking path is uneven natural terrain and dimly lit, so it is not suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs or buggies. However, wheelchair users are welcome on our accessible tractor to the forest entrance, where games, music and activities are fully accessible. The full walking route unfortunately cannot be adapted.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Sturdy shoes, warm layers and waterproofs – it can be cold and damp in the forest after dark! Fancy dress is very welcome.
Event Rules & Safety
Q: Can we touch the characters or props?
A: No – please stay on the marked path at all times, and do not touch or interact physically with our actors or decorations. Anyone doing so will be asked to leave immediately. Our team works incredibly hard to make this event special – please treat them with respect!
Q: Will there be jump scares?
A: Yes – but only appropriate to your session time. Our team will never jump out at guests in the 6:30pm slot.
Q: What happens if it storms?
A: For safety, we may cancel at short notice. We will give as much warning as possible, but weather can change quickly. You will be able to move your booking to another date for free – no refunds are given.
Extras & Facilities
Q: Where can we buy marshmallows for toasting?
A: Tokens must be bought online in advance – you then collect them from the welcome desk and redeem then with Count Dracula at the event to toast your marshmallows over the fire pits.
Q: Is there food available?
A: The Dizzy Duck Cafe is open 4:00pm–8:00pm – show your event ticket for **10% off all meals**.
Q: Are the play barns open?
A: They close promptly at **6:00pm**. Please remove muddy shoes and wet coats before entering.
Q: Can I arrive before 4:00pm?
A: Spooktacular tickets only cover entry from 4:00pm onwards. Normal admission charges apply if you wish to visit earlier or use other park attractions outside of the event.
Q.: Are there toilets?
A: There are toilets at the main entrance next to the gift shop and cafe but there are no toilets in the haunted forest.
Q: Who benefits from this event?
A: This is a fund raising event for the zoo organised by SIE Ltd. The proceeds of this event go to Perthshire Zoo, a charity registered with OSCR SC053939
