  • Canadian Parents for French (CPF) is the national network of volunteers that values French as an integral part of Canada and which is dedicated to the promotion and creation of French as a Second Language learning opportunities for youth in Canada. 

    CPF Ontario is delighted to present the 2026 Concours d’art oratoire, the largest French public-speaking event for Gr. 9-12 students studying French as a Second Language (FSL) in Ontario. The 41st annual event will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Glendon Campus, York University in Toronto. We are so looking forward to our next in-person event!

    Our 41st annual Concours d’art oratoire is organized by the Ontario Modern Language Teachers’ Association and Canadian Parents for French (Ontario). 

    Students from Grades 9 through 12 studying French as a Second Language in Ontario schools participate in two divisions: Traditional and Impromptu speeches and the following four categories: Core, Extended, Immersion and Francophone.  Students in Grades 9 through 12 participate in the competitive Traditional or Impromptu Concours format for cash prizes and scholarships!

    Fill in this form to register your school board to participate and send students finalists to the in person CPF ON Concours d'art oratoire 2026 in Toronto. 

    The deadline to complete this form to confirm your school board interest is November 28th, 2025.

    2026 Concours provincial registration fee is $75 per FSL student school board finalist - Payable upon finalists registration

    This is a preliminary registration form and some of your responses may be changed if necessary when you will complete the 'School Board List of Finalists' by April 1st, 2026.

  • Concours d’art oratoire as a Class Activity with new Impromptu Resources !

    This is a great opportunity to allow students to exercise their spontaneous oral production skills, and help prepare FSL students for the DELF certificate.

    CPF Ontario provides your school board with the resources to enjoy this activity for your students (Grades 4-8,9-12). Schools can choose to participate in the Traditional Division and/or the Impromptu Division. We send participation certificates for each of your students and medals for the top 3 winners. 

    The resources provide also a great opportunity to prepare Grades 9-12 students for our Traditional and Impromptu Concours d’art oratoire provincial, held in-person at Glendon Campus, York University on May 2nd, 2026.
