Wildland Firefighter School:  Train to become a wildland firefighter to be eligible for hiring at the start of the 2027 fire season – March through October. This 40-hour class will be held at both the *Roosevelt and Vernal campuses. 

Classes begin September 28, Monday and Wednesday evenings, 6 – 9 p.m.and end Saturday November 7, with a hands-on field day. 

 Taught by certified firefighters using National Wildfire Coordination Group curriculum. Course completion makes students eligible for potential jobs with local, state, federal and private firefighting contractors. All materials provided. Registration cost: $20/person. Students must be 18 by their 2027 hiring date.

**Classes taught live and in-person by fire officials at both campuses, however if either campus fails to have a minimum number of registered students, the campus with the most students will be the ONLY campus where class will be taught.

Workshop attendance and refund policy.

If you inform us that you cannot attend the workshop at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled date, you may be eligible for a refund.

However, if you do not notify us in advance, you will not receive a refund, as your registration fees are required to cover the instructor’s fee.
