What is "Freshman Only"?
This contest is only open to 9th-grade students. You will not be competing against anyone in grades 10-12. However, many of you are good enough to compete in the HS contest. We recommend that you enter HS Region Band if you are prepared. Another difference is that you only have to prepare a short segment of each etude in the Freshman audition, as opposed to preparing the entire etude for the HS audition.
