Discover the invisible world of microplastics during this hands-on edition of Friday Night Science! Participants will explore how microplastics move through our water systems and how wetlands help remove them.

The evening includes a live filtration demonstration using samples from Flint Creek and the WaterWorks wetlands, followed by a chance to filter your own sample and examine it under the microscope in a collaborative setting with other participants.

Curious about your own water? Feel free to bring a 500 mL (or larger) sample from a creek, pond, or other local source — or use one of ours. We’ll also have plenty of samples to explore, including local water, sea salt, and bottled water.

No previous experience required. Adults only.
