ISNA Canada invites you to celebrate Islamic Heritage Month by discovering the beauty of Islamic art and creating something meaningful with your own hands at our Arabic Calligraphy Painting Workshop, happening on Thursday, October 29.
Arabic calligraphy is one of Islam's most treasured traditions, turning words and verses into works of art. In this guided session, you'll start with practice sheets to get comfortable with the lettering of a selected design, such as an Arabic word, short phrase, or ayah. You'll then be guided through painting your final piece on canvas, learning how to create calligraphy-style strokes with a paintbrush.
This workshop is part of a series in which ISNA Canada partners with local artists to bring hands-on Islamic art experiences to communities across the country. To learn more about our Islamic Heritage Month programming, visit isnacanada.com/ihm.
