ISNA Canada invites you to celebrate Islamic Heritage Month by discovering the beauty of Islamic art and creating something meaningful with your own hands at our Phulkari Embroidery Workshop, happening on Monday, October 26.
Using the traditional Phulkari darning stitch, you'll embroider a pre-drawn Islamic-inspired motif, such as an eight-pointed star, geometric pattern, or arabesque floral design. With step-by-step guidance, you'll learn the distinctive counting method behind Phulkari and finish with your own embroidered artwork that celebrates both Islamic artistic traditions and the rich heritage of Phulkari.
This workshop is part of a series in which ISNA Canada partners with local artists to bring hands-on Islamic art experiences to communities across the country. To learn more about our Islamic Heritage Month programming, visit isnacanada.com/ihm.
