How Can You Support This Initiative?
Order a Children's Grief Awareness Month sign to proudly display in your yard all month long!
Brighter Days Family Grief Center is honored to bring Children’s Grief Awareness Month to the heart of Minnesota this November, shining a light on the thousands of young people carrying grief long before they should. The reality is heartbreaking: 1 in 14 Minnesota youth will experience the loss of a parent or sibling by the age of 18. Behind this statistic are real children, real families, and real stories, and Brighter Days is here to ensure they are supported, understood, and never alone.
Children’s Grief Awareness Month is a nationwide effort to raise awareness about the unique challenges grieving children face, and Minnesota is now proudly part of this movement. Throughout November, we invite you to join us by displaying a Children’s Grief Awareness Month yard sign, a simple, powerful way to show grieving children that their community sees them and stands with them.
Within this important month is one very meaningful day: Children’s Grief Awareness Day. In 2021, Brighter Days submitted the proclamation that officially recognized this day in Minnesota, marking a milestone in our commitment to grieving children statewide. On this day, people across the country wear blue to honor and uplift grieving youth, and we hope you will join us in keeping that tradition strong.
Thank you for believing in this mission. With your help, Minnesota can continue to grow into a community where grieving children feel understood, supported, and surrounded by hope.
