Thrive Mosaic Workshop: A Seniors Trip to the Aga Khan Museum

Join ISNA Canada for an afternoon of creativity at the Aga Khan Museum, where seniors will take part in Fasayfisa': Introduction to Mosaics, a hands-on workshop inspired by the intricate geometric patterns found in Islamic art and architecture. Participants will create their own small ornament using vibrant glass tiles, guided by Museum Educators, while learning about the history and meaning behind this centuries-old artistic tradition.

Program Details:

Date: Tuesday August 25th

Time: 1:30 PM – 7:00 PM (Bus departs ICC at 2:00 PM sharp; workshop runs 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM)

Location: Aga Khan Museum – 77 Wynford Dr, Toronto, ON M3C 1K1 (transportation provided from ICC located at - 2200 South Sheridan Way, Mississauga, ON L5J 2M4, Canada)

Participants are asked to arrive at ISNA Canada by 1:30 PM for check-in, as the bus will depart promptly at 2:00 PM.

The workshop begins at 3:00 PM and includes a spotlight tour of the Museum's collection before the hands-on mosaic activity. The group will return to ICC by approximately 7:00 PM.

Workshop & Accessibility Information: This is a seated, hands-on workshop suitable for all mobility levels. The program includes a guided tour, a wellness break with snacks, and a full mosaic-making session using vibrant glass tiles.

Please come prepared for an afternoon indoors at the Museum. We recommend bringing:

Comfortable clothing
Any personal medications you may require
A light layer, as Museum spaces can be cool
