Continue your journey in mastering the science of Qur’an recitation with Matn al-Jazariyyah, the classical matn/poem of Imam Ibn al-Jazarī and one of the most important texts in advanced Tajwīd studies.

This course is designed as a second-level follow-up to the Art of Tajwīd: Tuḥfat al-Aṭfāl course. Students will study the key principles of Tajwīd through the lines of al-Jazariyyah, with a focus on accurate recitation, proper articulation of letters, characteristics of letters, common mistakes, and the deeper rules required for refined Qur’an recitation.

Join this structured tajwīd course beginning September 11th, taught by Shaykh Mohamed Abdelaziz. This 10 week program meets Fridays at 7 PM and is designed to strengthen your foundation in Qur’an recitation.

The program is certificate-based, with an optional Ijāzah Track available for students who meet the recitation standards and successfully complete all assessments.

Recommended Audience: Students who have completed Tuḥfat al-Aṭfāl or have a strong foundation in basic Tajwīd rules and Qur’an recitation.

Important Information:

• Format: This course takes place in-person. Each session will include approximately 90 minutes of teaching time with breaks for salah.
  Attendance: Students will be expected to attend regularly, participate in recitation practice, and complete a final assessment. A passing grade of 80% or higher is required to receive a Course Completion Certificate.
• Certificates: Students who successfully memorize and demonstrate understanding of the Matn al-Jazariyyah may also qualify to receive an ijāzah in the matn, subject to the instructor's evaluation.
• Children Policy: Children are not permitted in the sessions. Please make alternate arrangements.
• Student Resources: Students will have access to a secure online portal where they can view class video recordings and download the corresponding lecture slides.
