Airport wildlife risk assessments are a critical component of building an effective airport wildlife management plan and are a regulatory requirement of the Canadian Aviation Regulations. The Bird Strike Association of Canada offers this immersive 3-hour training to build your airport’s expertise in risk assessments. You will learn practical and scalable approaches suitable for your airport’s size and resource levels. The webinar features content from BSAC Board of Directors Pierre Molina, Edith Senechal, and David Bradbeer, with the pilot’s perspective on risk presented by Captain Ronald DuJohn.
The webinar will cover:
fundamentals of risk as it relates to animal and aircraft behaviour and animal behaviour as it relates to aircraft risk
methods of wildlife data collection and analysis (species, behaviours, frequencies) alongside aircraft data (engine and airframe types, vulnerability, movement volumes).
Methods for cross-reference multiple datasets to assess risk, interpret results, and guide prevention strategies.
Our goal is to enable your organization’s capability to enhance aviation safety through a clear, operational understanding of wildlife–aircraft interactions.
