    Harrison County Arts Annual
  • Harrison County Arts invites artists working in the Ohio River Valley to submit their work for consideration in our Annual Regional Juried Exhibition, taking place July 17–September 5, 2026 in our restored historic gallery in downtown Corydon, Indiana.

    We encourage emerging and established artists working across all mediums to submit their work for consideration.

    The open-ended intent of this exhibition is purposeful: We invite all artists to submit their work so we can celebrate and support the vibrant artistic community in our area. Please join us in exploring the unique perspectives and visions of artists in the Ohio River Valley region.

    JUROR – Brian Jones

    Brian Jones was a Professor Emeritus of Fine Arts at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, where he taught printmaking and drawing for 36 years. His work has been exhibited in over 35 solo exhibitions and in over 200 international, national, and regional exhibitions, receiving numerous awards at each level. Brian’s work is further represented in museum, university, and corporate collections, including the University of Maine Museum of Art, the Amity Art Foundation, Lauren Rogers Museum of Art, Biblioteque de France, Paris, the Huntsville Museum of Art, the Utah Museum of Art, the University of Louisville Print Archive, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Brian has received over 15 individual artist fellowships to such programs as the MacDowell Colony, the Corporation of Yaddo, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Brian has served as president on several Boards, including the Mary Anderson Center for the Arts, The Mid America Print Council, and the American Print Alliance.

  • ELIGIBLE WORK (SPECIFICATIONS)
    All 2D work must be suitably framed and/or finished and ready for hanging including a wire, must be ready for exhibition. All 3D work must be stable and safe while sitting on a platform or a pedestal. Width and height of the work, no dimension larger than 60”, 100 pounds or less. Plexiglass for all works on paper. Note: The Harrison County Arts Exhibition Installation Committee reserves the right to determine whether works are ready for display.

    GUIDELINES
    Works must be for sale, with a 40% commission retained for nonmembers and 30% for members. Works must be original and produced by the entrant. Works must have been completed within the last three years. Works must comply with copyright standard.

    AGREEMENT
    Permission to reproduce works for publicity is considered granted. Every reasonable effort will be made to protect the safety of all works.

    ENTRY PROCEDURES
    Each entry must be represented by digital images: 300 dpi (pixels/inch); jpeg OR tiff format; CMYK OR RGB; largest dimension must be 7 inches (pixel dimension 2100). Images can be submitted online along with completed entry form and fee.
    Artists are encouraged to remove frames and matting for photography and to mask out any extraneous background that might impact the jurors’ ability to view the image.
    Digital files must be identified by Artist’s name.
    For two entries, a $25 non-refundable processing fee payable to Harrison County Arts payable via credit card in the submission form.
    Credit card charge and an automated confirmation email will be notification of Harrison County Arts receipt of your entry.

    NOTIFICATION
    All submitting artists will be notified by email of selection decisions. No selection decisions will be released over the telephone or via postal service.
    Images of artwork selected for display will be retained by Harrison County Arts.
    Harrison County Arts reserves the right not to display any selected work that does not correspond to the quality or configuration indicated in the submitted images.

    LIABILITY
    Agreement for artworks in exhibition:
    Whereas, the Harrison County Arts is displaying art or having an exhibition; and
    whereas, the artist/owner of the artworks to be displayed desires to participate in the gallery or art exhibition; and whereas, the artist/owner of the artworks to be displayed, participation is mutually beneficial to both the artist and Harrison County Arts; The parties do hereby agree as follows: The artist/owner of the artwork(s) to be displayed in the Harrison County Arts gallery or exhibition, will not hold Harrison County Arts, its Board of Directors or Executive Director, Gallery Manager, its agents, the facility displaying the art or the facility displaying the art’s owners, board, agents and directors, responsible for damages or theft of artworks displayed. Harrison County Arts will take reasonable precaution for the care and handling of artworks while on display in the gallery or exhibition.
